The growing anti-SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) support that has swept through the gaming and Internet community found a very big ally today. With websites like Reddit and Wikipedia and gaming organizations like Major League Gaming prepared for a blackout on January 18^th – the same day that the House Judiciary Committee hearing on HR 3261was scheduled in Washington, DC – President Barack Obama has stepped in and said he would not support the bill.

SOPA has been delayed, for now. The House has agreed to revisit the issue next month, but they now know the White House will veto any bill that’s not more narrowly focused.

A group of ‘Indian’ hackers calling themselves "The Lords of Dharmaraja" recently broke into government servers and released documents to show that New Delhi was running an elaborate hacking operation targeting US officials.
They made public, among other things, a memo supposedly written by India’s Directorate General of Military Intelligence. The memo reveals mobile handset manufacturers, Apple, RIM, Nokia et al., creating a backdoor for Indian authorities to spy on their users.

A new version of the Carberp Trojan attempts to steal money from Facebook users by duping them into divulging an e-cash vouche, researchers say.

Carberp replaces any Facebook page the user navigates to with a fake page notifying the victim that his/her Facebook account is ‘temporarily locked,’" says Trusteer CTO Amit Klein in his blog. "The page asks the user for their first name, last name, email, date of birth, password and a Ukash 20 euro [approximately $25 US] voucher number to ‘confirm verification’ of their identity and unlock the account.

WebCookiesSniffer is a packet sniffer tool that captures all Web site cookies sent between the Web browser and the Web server and displays them in a simple cookies table. The upper pane of WebCookiesSniffer displays the cookie string and the Web site/host name that sent or received this cookie. When selecting a cookie string in the upper pane, WebCookiesSniffer parses the cookie string and displays the cookies as name-value format in the lower pane.
